OPERATIONS MANAGER – RECYCLING PLANT
California Recyclers is the premier commercial recycler in the Inland Empire. We service business small and large from all over Southern California. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager, looking to grow in a fast-paced environment. We have nearly tripled in Volume since last June.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to ensure excellence in environmental safety and the execution of all essential functions and process of the recycling plant. Responsible to successfully oversee the operation of the Recycling Plant and to maintain compliance with all legislation and regulations related to the recycling operations and use of the facility.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure safe and smooth operation of plant, including: Shipping & Receiving, Maintenance, Inventory, Production and Safety
- Works to maximize operational success while minimizing handling and operational costs.
- Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site.
- Frequently offers suggestions for operational improvement
- Oversee and execute the sourcing, recruitment, hiring, training and work of the recycling operations team
- Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the company property through regular inspection and preventative maintenance programs with supervisors and employees
- Oversees a variety of complex compliance programs, including environmental, DOT, OSHA, and local permitting.
- Monitors progress of daily operations for 20 drivers and make staffing and routing changes as necessary
- Formulates both short-term and long-term goals and action plans with the General Manager
- Manage and direct a team of supervisors, leads, works and drivers.
- Performs other duties as assigned
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- 5-7 years’ experience in waste or recycling industry is required
- 5 years of managing in a people driven environment
- Competitive Drive, Resiliency, Follow Through and Positive Attitude
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA guidelines
- Computer proficiency, including MS Office and the ability to learn and use industry specific software
- Bachelor’s Degree highly desired
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Competitive Salary – depending on work experience and education $60,000 - $70,000
